2015 NFAA Vegas Shoot – February 6-8

The Vegas Shoot was awesome this year!  A bunch of kids and adults from my team were there to compete and everyone did great.  My friend Faith even took first place in the youth recurve division!  My first day wasn’t my best score but the second day was solid for a combined score of 560, which was 24 points higher than last year.  I finished sixth overall.  It was nice to see the hours at the range over the past several months pay off.

Between the shooting we had a chance to see quite a lot of Las Vegas.  We drove out to Red Rock Canyon, which was very cool, and hiked up to a huge cave.  Apparently there are wild burros and horses around there but we didn’t see any.  We also went to Pawn Stars.  It’s not at all like on TV and really lame.

My new Ripcord rest worked great. I’m glad we changed out the QAD drop-away.  I really liked the trade show and getting to see all the new gear.  There is always new cool stuff out there to try!
